Our process for crafting river tables begins with a thoughtful selection of wood species, tailored to suit your home’s aesthetic. Each species boasts its own unique figuring and color, ensuring a personalized touch. Once we’ve identified the perfect slab for your space, we proceed to flatten it, splitting it down the middle, and carefully placing it into a custom-made mold.
To ensure bonding, we seal both the slab and its edges before filling the river portion and any voids with epoxy in the color of your choosing. Once the epoxy cures, we remove the piece from the mold, flatten both sides and trim it to the desired length and width. Any minor cracks or voids are then filled, and the table is sanded to a smooth finish.
At this stage, we offer our clients the option of finishing the table with either a food-grade hard oil wax or a clear coat of table top epoxy, depending on their preferences. To safeguard against fluctuations in humidity and temperature, we install c channels on the bottom of each table, preventing any movement of the wood.
Finally, we install threaded inserts on the bottom, allowing for seamless mounting to the base of your choice, selected with the guidance of our client. With attention to detail and a commitment to quality, we ensure that every river table we create is a centerpiece, perfectly tailored to enhance your home.
